Te Amo, Argentina!

The Borromeo joins Latin Grammy-winning cellist Antonio Lysy, and the sizzling international tango duo Miriam Larici and Leonoardo Barrionuevo (of FOX's So You Think You Can Dance and NBC's Superstars of Dance) in an exotic udio-visual journey that draws audiences into the heart of Argentina and its fascinating, diverse culture.

The peformance combines Argentine chamber music, heart-stopping original tango choreography, and commissioned projected animations and visual artwork.

From the Amerindian rhythms of the Andes Mountains, to the city-street cafés of Buenos Aires, the combination of music, dance and projected media weave together an inspiring homage to Argentina.

Discussion presentation:

"Bartok: Paths Not Taken"

This special Bartok event explores recently uncovered, an extraordinary, alternate movements that Bela Bartok wrote for his 6 quartets, but quietly shelved away in favor of the music we know today.

This presentation will include projections of Bartok's manuscripts of these recoverd movements for quartets 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6, illustrated by the Borromeos.

This remarkable material was uncovered by first violinist, Nicholas Kitchen, through his work in the Bartók Archive in Budapest.

All manuscripts will be shown with the special permission by Bartók’s son, Peter.
